Trainee Benefits

1. NSF sponsored TRANSCEND fellowship (Eligibility: US permanent residents and citizens)

  • Up to 12 consecutive months of stipend support, travel funds, health benefits, etc.
  • Research opportunities in EdNeuro
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Internships and international experiences at partner organizations
  • Training in neurodiversity, team science, research ethics, reproducibility, management, STEM career, teaching/mentoring, communication, outreach, etc. (see curriculum page for details)
  • “Challenge teams” – Interdisciplinary research and collaboration
    2. TRANSCEND fellowship (all students, regardless of citizenship status)
    • Partial financial or stipend support, travel funds, health benefits, etc.

    Regardless the type of affiliation/fellowship, all TRANSCEND trainees are expected to actively participate in all program activities.

    Eligibility

    • Incoming/Current 1st – 4th year students at UConn are eligible to apply and will be considered
      • Psychology, Education, Computer Science & Engineering
        • with a preference for students in early stages of their programs
      • Math
        • with a preference for students in their 3rd-year
    • Must be sponsored by a faculty mentor in and admitted to one of the following departments/schools:
